Ullage of You

While i imbibe you, i acknowledge your appearance, saturated but pure, bright and opulent; hues of necessity and heart and sustainability. While I imbibe you, i experience all the qualities of your aroma, inhaling its complexities and its range, its depth and its consistency, and enjoy its subtle assault on my deepest pathways, like the warm winds accompanying fresh autumn rains.
While I imbibe you, i palate every measure, relishing in the progression of your flavor, its consistency, and its texture and heat, leaving me in awe of its temperament, which opens and changes with time, support, and touch.
When i imbibe you, i’ll try my best to savor this pour, as it warms my bottomless gully, which operates with a vibrant and accepting heart.
But when i imbibe you, the thrill of your drink far exceeds the measure of our time, as the more i sit, the less i feel alive; and so i know, as sure as the sun, and the rate at which i drink, this pour will soon be done.

Pat Marino appreciates the thrill of a six hour drive for the unknown.
